An open ledger, not a brochure
Every project Bambako has built or is building, with an honest status and what it needs next. This page exists so any member, donor, or partner organization can see exactly where support is going.
Completed & operating
Provides clean, reliable drinking water to the village, replacing dependence on unprotected water sources. Reduces water-borne illness and the daily burden of fetching water from farther sources.
Next need: a maintenance fund for pump servicing and parts, so the borehole stays running without waiting for a breakdown.
The village is connected to the grid, powering homes and shops and making evening study, refrigeration, and small enterprise possible.
Next need: expanding reliable coverage to any households or compounds not yet connected.
Gives Bambako's children a secular education without needing to travel or board elsewhere.
Next need: classroom supplies, textbooks, and support for teacher retention.
Provides Islamic and Arabic-language education alongside the primary school, a core part of the village's education system.
Next need: learning materials and upkeep of the school building.
A working fish pond producing food and income for the village — one of Bambako's few revenue-generating assets, and the strongest foundation for a local economy.
Next need: investment in feed, stock, and basic processing or storage so more of what's produced can reach local markets.
What comes next
These are the next rungs of the ladder — the kind of infrastructure that turned villages into towns like Folsom over time. None are funded yet; this is where diaspora input and funding decisions matter most.
Reliable road access to the fish pond, school, and main village routes — especially through the rainy season — would improve market access and school attendance.
A small clinic or a scheduled visiting health worker would reduce the need to travel for basic care and checkups.
A single connectivity point in the village — internet access and device charging — would make it far easier for residents to reach diaspora family, access information, and use this website directly.
